A former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, has debunked a claim that Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State asked him to shelve his 2027 gubernatorial ambition.

He made the clarification in an X post early Tuesday.

A political analyst, Theo Agada, had claimed the Gombe governor directed Pantami to drop his gubernatorial ambition and support the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Agada further claimed that Yahaya communicated the directive to Pantami during a stakeholders meeting on Monday night at the Gombe State Government House.

Reacting, the ex-minister described the claim as an “evil agenda”, noting that the governor never made such a demand.

Referencing the claim, Pantami said, “This is not true. Nothing like this happened. The Governor did not ask anyone to drop their ambition.

“Infact, the Gov. gave me a special recognition by inviting me to be among the speakers at the event.”

Addressing the poster, the ex-minister stated, “For your information, @TheoAbuAgada, you will never be successful with your evil agenda. If Allah (God) is with you, no evil plan will defeat you.”

SunOnline reports that Pantami on Monday in Gombe launched a compendium documenting 241 legacy projects and over 700 employment opportunities executed during his tenure as minister.

Pantami served as Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency from 2016 to 2019 and later as minister from 2019 to 2023.
