Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, is mobilising 50 million women across the country for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in the 2027 presidential election.

The mobilisation drive will receive a major boost tomorrow (Monday) as more than 20,000 women stakeholders from across the country converge on Abuja for the Women Stakeholders’ Mobilisation and Empowerment Pre-Inaugural Campaign Roll-Out 2027.

The event, organised under the Women Mobilisation Directorate of the 2027 All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, will hold at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre (BATICC), Abuja.

It is themed “Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity,” with the mobilisation message, “One Voice, One Movement, One Choice, One Mandate 2027.”

The gathering is expected to attract women leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, grassroots organisers, political stakeholders and representatives of various women’s groups.

Speaking ahead of the event, Princess Gloria Akobundu, a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council Women Mobilisation Planning Committee, canvassed support for the administration, citing its education financing, infrastructure, social protection and empowerment programmes.

Akobundu specifically highlighted the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), saying the initiative had expanded opportunities for Nigerian students to access interest-free loans.

She said NELFUND currently has more than 1.4 million registered students and over 1.69 million loan applications, with more than ₦191 billion disbursed through over 320 institutional partners.

She also cited the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP), which provides financing for personal needs, education, home improvement and renewable energy, among others.

On infrastructure, Akobundu said the Tinubu administration had constructed more than 2,700 kilometres of highways, while major roads were undergoing construction, reconstruction or rehabilitation.

She listed the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway and Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road among the projects, alongside investments in rail, energy and housing.

Akobundu also highlighted the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer Programme and other interventions under NG-CARES, SOLID and HOPE, saying they were designed to support vulnerable Nigerians and strengthen human capital.

She urged women in Imo State and across the South-East to intensify grassroots mobilisation and take the Renewed Hope message to communities and localities.

She said women remained critical to the success of the Tinubu-Shettima re-election bid, urging them to unite behind the 2027 campaign.
