From Uchenna Inya,
The people of the Ikem community in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State have declared total support for the reelection of Governor Peter Mba, President Bola Tinubu, and all the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates at the forthcoming local government and general elections.
The stakeholders of APC in the community announced their support when the campaign train of the party visited the Ward 1 of Ikem Uno for the local government elections. They commended Governor Mba on his developmental stride, especially the construction of the Owo-Neke-Ikem virgin road, stressing that the governor has shown capacity in infrastructure projects in the state.
Speaking during the visit of the chairmanship candidate of APC for the local government election at Ikem Ward 1, Dr. Dave Nnamani appealed to the governor, through joint projects, to construct the very important link road that cuts across the Ukwumango Ikem Ogor through Ikem Nkwo-Ashiebo-Odobido Ikem-Odenigbo Eha-Amufu and terminates at Ahube Water, which is the boundary of Enugu State and Benue State, according to the legal notice 126 of 1954.
He said that the road, when constructed, would open up the rural communities and create an enabling environment for the five communities of Odobido, Orene, Ekor, and Ishiador to relocate to their land which has been abandoned since 1970, as a result of hostility from Benue brothers.
“The road will connect Ebonyi, Enugu, and Benue to parts of the North within a few hours. We appreciate other developmental projects embarked upon by Governor Mba, which have affected many lives in the state. We are going to reciprocate the gesture through our mobilisation to reelect the governor and other APC candidates in Isi-Uzo LGA”.
Nnamani appealed to Governor Mba to liaise with the incoming chairman of Isi Uzo local government and look towards the road project, in pursuit of his agrarian policy. The chairmanship candidate of APC, Chief Brendan Ani, was accompanied by the APC House of Assembly candidate for Isi Uzo State Constituency, Hon. Augustine Nnamani, and the APC candidate for the Federal House of representatives for Isi Uzo/Enugu East federal constituency, Hon. Chijioke Edeoga.
The people of Ikem expressed their support for Edeoga, Chief Augustine Nnamani, and Chief Brendan Ani, while reaffirming their confidence in the party’s candidates and its leadership.
