The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, has expressed gratitude to his principal, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for endorsing him as preferred successor in the 2027 gubernatorial election.
Sanwo-Olu announced his endorsement at Lagos House, Marina on Monday following extensive consultations with key stakeholders, including members of the Governor’s Advisory Council.
The governor described his deputy as a “worthy successor”, praising his integrity, loyalty, commitment, and support.

In a statement shared on Facebook, Hamzat expressed gratitude to Sanwo-Olu for the confidence reposed in him.
He said, “Today, I am honoured by the endorsement of my Governor, my brother and my friend, HE Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
“His trust means a great deal to me. We’ve worked side by side in the service of Lagos State, and I don’t take this vote of confidence lightly.
“I remain committed to building on the progress we’ve made together, and look forward to serving Lagosians with integrity, focus and a clear sense of purpose.”
