NDC National Leader and former Bayelsa State Governor Senator Henry Seriake Dickson has met with the Executive Committee of the Obi-Kwankwaso 2027 Diaspora Group in London as mobilisation intensifies ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party formally affirmed the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket at its special convention in Abuja in May 2026.
Addressing the group, led by Dr Peter Costa Uwaibi, Senator Dickson commended its members for their commitment and urged them to intensify political sensitisation among Nigerians living in the United Kingdom and across the diaspora.
Dickson told the executives that Nigerians abroad could play an important role by engaging relatives, friends and communities at home and encouraging active participation in the democratic process.
“The task before us requires unity, commitment and sustained mobilisation.
“Nigerians in the diaspora have families, friends and communities back home, and their voices can contribute significantly to the national conversation. We must take the message of the NDC and the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket to Nigerians everywhere,” Dickson said.
He described the NDC’s 2027 campaign as being focused on addressing insecurity, economic hardship and corruption, issues on which the opposition party has been strongly critical of the ruling All Progressives Congress administration.
Dickson also stressed the importance of cooperation among the various organisations supporting Obi and Kwankwaso in the United Kingdom, Europe and elsewhere, arguing that fragmented efforts should give way to greater coordination and a common purpose.
“This is not the time for support groups to work in isolation. We need everyone on deck, working together and putting Nigeria first.

“Whatever our different organisations or platforms may be, the objective should be to mobilise peacefully and democratically for the leadership we believe Nigeria needs,” he said.
Responding on behalf of the Obi-Kwankwaso 2027 Diaspora Group, Dr Peter Costa Uwaibi assured the NDC leader of the organisation’s commitment to mobilising Nigerians in the United Kingdom and across Europe.
Uwaibi said the group would continue building networks and encouraging Nigerians abroad to engage their families and communities at home on the issues shaping the 2027 election.
“Our support for the Obi-Kwankwaso project is total. We understand that those of us in the diaspora have an important role to play. Our responsibility is not simply to campaign from abroad, but to engage Nigerians at home, discuss the issues and encourage them to participate fully in deciding the future of our country,” Uwaibi said.
He added that the group would pursue its mobilisation with “passion, organisation and a sense of national responsibility,” while working with other support organisations to strengthen coordination ahead of the election.
The London engagement forms part of growing political activities surrounding the NDC ahead of the 2027 polls.
Recent reports indicate that the party has been working to finalise its presidential campaign structure and coordinate mobilisation across Nigeria and beyond.
For the Obi-Kwankwaso 2027 Diaspora Group, the meeting provided an opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to political mobilisation and closer cooperation with the NDC leadership as preparations for the election intensify.
