Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial ticket for Ogun East ahead of the 2027 general elections following a decisive primary election held across the nine local government areas of the district.
The primary, conducted on Monday, saw Abiodun emerge victorious after polling a total of 75,560 votes out of 99,503 registered voters.
The result was officially announced by the returning officer for the senatorial district, Wale Bello, at Itoro Hall in Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area.

According to Bello, the exercise was conducted in line with party guidelines, confirming Abiodun as the winner of the contest and flagbearer for the senatorial district.
Following his victory, Dapo Abiodun expressed gratitude to God and APC members across the district for their support, describing the outcome as a reflection of confidence in his leadership.
He also assured party loyalists and constituents that he would not betray the trust placed in him, pledging continued commitment to the development of the district.
