Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship flagbearer for the 2027 election in Taraba State, has unveiled Aminu Zakari as his deputy governorship candidate.
Bwacha said the decision followed extensive engagements with party executives, community leaders, religious bodies, youth and women organisations, and other stakeholders across the state to ensure broad acceptance of the ticket.
He described the pairing as one built on competence, inclusiveness and a shared determination to provide purposeful leadership capable of addressing the state’s development needs.
Zakari, a civil engineer and procurement specialist with more than 14 years of experience in the public sector, was praised by Bwacha as a professional whose experience and integrity would strengthen the party’s agenda.
“Our ticket represents unity, inclusiveness, competence and a shared commitment to moving Taraba State forward,” Bwacha said.
He pledged that a PDP administration would focus on transparent governance, accountability and people-centred policies aimed at improving infrastructure, restoring public confidence and accelerating development in all 16 local government areas of the state.
The PDP candidate also thanked party leaders and supporters for their contributions throughout the selection process, urging members to remain united and committed ahead of the 2027 governorship poll.
Bwacha expressed optimism that the party would secure victory at the election and reclaim what he described as the mandate of the people of Taraba State.
