Human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju said the opposition is trying to oust President Bola Tinubu in 2027 with the same strategy that failed to stop his election in 2023.
Adeyanju said this while lampooning the opposition’s strategy going into the 2027 polls.
He stated that the presidential candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the political opposition have remained fixated on the alleged forfeiture of $460,000 by Tinubu in the United States more than three decades ago.
This, he noted, was a talking point that the opposition exploited to no avail in 2023.
According to Adeyanju, Atiku’s refusal to move beyond it betrays a lack of strategy.
He said, “Atiku’s obsession with Tinubu’s drug case in the US shows he has ran out of strategy.
“This was the main talking point in the last election and it ended bad for the opposition.
“Still making it the main issue in this election shows they learnt nothing from 2023.
“What is the strategy to defeat Tinubu in 2027 or you guys still want to use 2023 strategy?”
