A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chidi Eze, has predicted that President Bola Tinubu will secure at least five million votes from the South-East in the 2027 presidential election.
Eze, who is Chairman of the Tell Your Neighbor Organisation, said the projection was based on extensive consultations with members of the organisation, community structures and other stakeholders across the five South-East states, as well as an assessment of the Tinubu administration’s performance.
He made the assertion yesterday in Abuja at an endorsement rally organised in support of Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Eze said the organisation, as a grassroots civic education and mobilisation body, had monitored the policies and programmes of the Federal Government and was convinced that the country was on the path to economic recovery and development.
He disclosed that the organisation had more than seven million volunteers across communities and planned to reach five million Nigerians through town-hall meetings, door-to-door campaigns and other grassroots mobilisation initiatives.
According to him, the campaign will focus on voter mobilisation, countering misinformation and promoting peaceful participation in the 2027 elections.
Eze identified the removal of the petrol subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange market as among the bold economic reforms undertaken by the administration, arguing that despite the initial hardships, the measures were necessary to reduce leakages, improve government revenue and boost investor confidence.

The organisation’s Secretary, Ekene Onunkwo, also commended the administration’s performance in infrastructure development, citing projects including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway and critical bridge projects, alongside investments in roads, rail transportation and port modernisation.
On the power sector, Onunkwo praised the Federal Government’s renewed focus on electricity generation, transmission and distribution, as well as renewable energy and gas development.
He said improved energy security would stimulate businesses, create employment opportunities and strengthen the national economy.
On agriculture and food security, he highlighted government interventions in support of farmers, dry-season farming, provision of farm inputs and mechanisation, saying the initiatives had contributed to increased food production and improved livelihoods in rural communities.
On education and youth empowerment, Onunkwo cited the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme and government support for technology and start-ups as evidence of the administration’s efforts to equip young Nigerians with skills and opportunities in the modern economy.
On security, he said the organisation’s assessment recognised increased attention to the welfare and funding of the Armed Forces, police and other security agencies.
He added that reported gains in the fight against terrorism, insurgency and other forms of insecurity deserved recognition.
Onunkwo also commended what he described as progress in women’s inclusion, democratic governance, institutional reforms and Nigeria’s diplomatic engagement, saying the administration had continued to position the country for greater relevance in Africa and the global community.
