…Say mandate sacrosanct, non-negotiable

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders have declared that the mandate of Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, remains “sacrosanct and non-negotiable”.
They hinged their claims on his track record of service and development across Kano North.
The stakeholders under the auspices of APC Akida Group, in a statement issued in Abuja by its chairman, Aliyu Musa Dan Zabuwa, noted that its position was not driven by sentiment but what it described as “a well-established record of purposeful leadership and consistent representation.”
Dan Zabuwa further claimed that Barau, has elevated the political relevance of Kano North at the national level, while maintaining strong ties with his constituents.
“Despite the demands of his national assignment, he remains accessible and committed to the grassroots,” the party’s stakeholders noted.
According to them, senator’s interventions in the education sector, including the establishment of a federal university of technology in Bichi, scholarships for students, and the renovation of classrooms across the senatorial district, stressing that these efforts demonstrate Barau’s belief that education is central to sustainable development.
On infrastructure, they cited road construction projects linking rural communities and the installation of solar-powered streetlights, describing them as visible signs of democratic dividends delivered under Barau’s representation.

Thousands have benefitted from skills acquisition, access to medical services, and distribution of farming inputs to boost productivity,” they highlighted.
While reaffirming its stance, they stressed that continuity in leadership would be critical to sustaining ongoing development in the region.
“The progress recorded must not be allowed to stall. 2027 should be a period of consolidation, not experimentation,” the chairman said.
They called on stakeholders and residents of Kano North to rally behind the senator, insisting that Barau’s performance has earned him widespread trust and credibility.
“His consistency and ability to deliver on promises have distinguished him as a reliable leader,” the statement noted.
The APC stakeholders therefore urged unity among supporters, declaring that Barau remains the preferred candidate for the 2027 elections.
“He embodies integrity, dedication, and effective representation. His mandate, therefore, is sacrosanct and non-negotiable,” they noted.
