2027: Anti-Tinubu forces to register ADA

One of the opposition groups seeking to sack the  President Bola Tinubu led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration, New Platform, has applied for the registration of a new party, the All Democratic Alliance ( ADA).

Key members of the New Platform include former Senate President, David Mark; former Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi and Umar Ardo , a former aide to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.

ADA’s request  for registration  as a political party was conveyed in a letter dated June 19 and addressed to the chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and signed by  its Protem National Chairman, Chief Akin A. Ricketts, and Protem National Secretary, Abdullahi Musa Elayo.

The application  letter, which was made available to to journalists, on Friday, in Abuja, indicated that “Justice for All” will serve as the party’s official slogan, when registered.

The political association also submitted alongside the application its propo  sed logo — incorporating symbolic elements such as corn (maize) and distinct party colours — as well as the association’s manifesto and constitution.

According to the letter, the proposed party’s founding documents, articulate ADA’s ideology, governance structure, internal regulations, and its alignment with relevant legal frameworks, including Sections 40 and 222 of the 1999 Constitution, and Section 75 of the Electoral Act 2022
