A group of traders from Ngwa Road Market, Aba, Abia State, under the aegis of Abia Arise, are canvassing support for Governor Alex Otti’s re-election come 2027.

Addressing the traders in Aba, the Coordinator, Abia Rise (the political structure of Governor Otti in the area), Kingsley Madubuike, said Otti has done very well as governor that he requires little or no campaign for his re-election.

Enumerating some of the achievements of Otti in office, Madubuike said Abia had suffered over the years before the coming of the present administration to right the wrongs of the past.

He contended that Abians will be doing themselves great disservice if they fail to re-elect Governor Otti for a second term in office to complete the good work he has started.

“Governor Otti is touching the lives of Abians in many spheres; apart from the infrastructural development that is glaring, the electric bus shuttle he introduced is found nowhere in the South East.

“The buses are carrying people free for now and, by the time fares will be introduced by the end of this month, they would collect only N520 per passenger from Aba to Umuahia, for instance, which presently ordinarily costs N1600.”

Madubuike warned members against playing into the hands of the opposition, stressing that they have no better thing to offer Abians.

Coordinator of Abia Arise in Ngwa Road Market, Ndubuisi Ejeagba, had earlier told the traders the need for them to remain steadfast in their support for Otti.

Ejeagba said Governor Otti has done so well in office that the traders, in particular, and Abians, in general, should have no choice than to re-elect him in office.

“I don’t think we should have any other choice as traders and Abians in the re-election of Governor Otti because he has done very well these few years he has been in office.”

He urged all traders in the state to go and get their PVCs to enable them vote for Otti come 2027.

The women leader of the group, Mrs. Nnenna Kalu, and its patron, Chief Ogan Okereke, both eulogised Otti for the good works he is doing in Abia.

They said traders in the state have resolved to support Otti and will cast their votes for him in next year’s election and urged the governor to continue his good works.
