The Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed its unwavering loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and pledged total alignment with his ongoing reforms, describing them as transformative and worthy of consolidation in 2027.
In a communiqué jointly signed by the State Chairman, Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu, and the State Secretary, Chief Chidi Avajah following the party’s stakeholders’ meeting on Saturday, the leadership of the party emphasized its commitment to ensuring President Tinubu’s re-election bid is strategically executed and overwhelmingly successful.
According to the communiqué, “The Abia State APC reaffirms its unwavering support for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and fully aligns with his transformative achievements. The party commits to working diligently and strategically towards his successful re-election for a second term.”
The leadership also called on all stakeholders to remain steadfast in promoting internal unity and collective progress. “Stakeholders of the Abia State APC are urged to continue to uphold unity, cohesion, and collective purpose in all party affairs,” the statement read.
Reiterating its stability and internal cohesion, the party noted that “The Abia State APC stands firm as a united and formidable political family under the capable leadership of the State Chairman, Chief (Dr.) Kingsley Ononogbu.”
As part of ongoing restructuring efforts, the State Working Committee has been directed to immediately commence the nationwide APC E-Registration exercise.

The party mandated leaders across the 17 local government areas and wards to mobilize fully to ensure the process is “comprehensive, seamless, and highly successful.”
The communiqué further stressed that “All new members are required to register strictly at their respective wards in accordance with the provisions of the APC Constitution.”
The party stakeholders expressed satisfaction with the improved atmosphere within the party. According to the release, “Stakeholders expressed satisfaction with the renewed sense of unity, harmony, and cooperation currently enjoyed among party leaders.”
Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Abia APC pledged to strengthen its grassroots structures and intensify membership expansion. “All party stakeholders are encouraged to intensify grassroots mobilization and continue attracting new members to further strengthen and expand the party’s structure,” the leadership said.
The statement added that the party remains resolute in its goal to reclaim political control in the state. “The Abia State APC resolves to work relentlessly to secure victory in the 2027 general elections, ensuring that the Abia Government House and all elective positions are won decisively in favour of the All Progressives Congress.”
In a further show of unity, the party passed a vote of confidence on prominent federal and state lawmakers from Abia. The communiqué states that:
“The Abia State APC passed a vote of confidence on the Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu; His Excellency Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, a former Governor of the State and Senator representing Abia North; Hon. Chris Nwonta, Member representing Ukwa East/West Federal Constituency; and Hon. Emmanuel Ndubuisi, Member representing Bende South State Constituency at the Abia State House of Assembly.”
The Abia APC says it will continue to consolidate its gains as it positions itself as a formidable force ahead of the next electoral cycle.
