Akwa Ibom state chapter of African Action Congress (AAC) has said that it would wrestle power with incumbent governor pastor Umo Eno and take over from him come February 2027.
The party has also said it has consolidated her stronghold by inaugurating local government chapter offices across the 31 local government areas in the state .
Speaking at the inauguration of AAC chapter office along Ekparakwa – Aba expressway in Ukanafun local government area of the state, the governorship candidate of AAC in Akwa Ibom Mr Stephen Mfon Udoh urged Akwa Ibom people to unite for victory during 2027 election.
Udoh expressed disappointment over past leaders in the state who never did well in terms of infrastructure and management of the state resources despite bogus allocation to the state from the federation account and promised to change the narratives if elected in 2027 .
Udoh who was accompanied to the party office inauguration by other candidates for Akwa Ibom North senatorial district comrade Unyime Mbono and the party candidate for Nsit Ibom State Constituency Hon Iboro Nna Akpan explained that the huge allocation to the the state does not manifest in infrastructure, road network, welfare and electricity at the grassroot adding that these areas would remain his key focus after his election.

” AAC stands for justice, equity and fairplay for the people . Any democracy that does not consider yearnings and needs of the people is a sham ”
Earlier, the chapter chairman of AAC in Ukanafun Elder Akpan Mfoniso appreciated all members of the party for beating the rain to attend the office inauguration.
He said such solidarity was evidence of assurance that the people will vote the AAC to victory in 2027.
” Ukanafun and entire Akwa Ibom would vote AAC massively come 2027. We would not be intimidated by other political parties. We would stamp our feet like Osun people and deliver our party ”
In his remarks, the state chairman of AAC Hon Utip Joseph Etiebet called on the people of Ukanafun/ OrukAnam Federal Constituency kick out the incumbent representative at the federal House of Representatives Hon Unyime Idem for equity Justice and fairness for the Constituency
” Politics is all about distribution of wealth and resources for development of the people
” This wealth and resources should not be concentrated in one hand . It must shared to all . This is what AAC represents as a party ”
Etiebet observed that local government chairmen under APC in the state received over N600m as monthly allocation but nothing to show for the people .
” All that the local government chairmen are doing is to embark on “osusu” contribution of N30m for themselves monthly without concern for welfare of the people
” The Chairmen in Akwa Ibom state are busy grading roads as their achievements while the people languish in poverty and sickness
” When AAC takes over next year , we would position our candidates to bring real dividends of democracy to the people”
Others who presented their goodwill messages include the party candidate for House of Representatives Hon Gabriel Mfoniso and party stakeholders .
