2026 WCQ: Referee for Nigeria v Benin Republic game named

Egyptian referee, Amin Mohamed Omar will take charge of Nigeria’s final 2026 World Cup qualifier against Benin Republic.

The game is scheduled to take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on Tuesday, October 14.

Omar will be assisted by compatriots Mahmoud Abouelregal, Ahmed Tawfik Ali and Mahmoud Moustafa Elbana as assistant referee 1, assistant referee 2 and fourth official respectively.

Other officials include: Jason Joseph Damoo from Seychelles (referee assessor), Ghanaian Prosper Harrison Addo from Ghana (commissioner) and Xolile Vilakati from eSwatini (security officer).

A victory for either team will boost their chances of qualification.
