Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has corrected his recent remark on the team’s accommodations in Morocco ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff against Gabon on Thursday.

Iwobi was stunned when he earlier pointed out the awful state of the team’s accommodation in Rabat.

The Fulham star posted photos showing the awful condition and surroundings of the Super Eagles’ accommodation.

His post raised immediate worries about the Nigerian national team’s health and preparation standards ahead of the match against Gabon on Thursday.

However, Iwobi has since explained his stance on the tweet, insisting that he never submitted a complaint or cast judgement on the hotel.

“Are you seeing life? It’s all about perspective, because I snapped at the view I have and people are thinking these guys are ungrateful,” the former Arsenal and Everton player said in a social media post.

“Brother, I never said one thing. I just did one look like this, never said a word. Because, you see, in life, some people don’t even have yards; some of them don’t have beds.”
