First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, has urged Nigerians to embrace 2026 with renewed hope, peace, and a collective commitment to uplifting families, women, children, and the vulnerable, as the nation bids farewell to a challenging year.
In her official New Year message titled “2026: Hope on the Horizon,” Mrs. Tinubu expressed profound gratitude to God for the dawn of the new year, highlighting the resilience that defined Nigerians in 2025.
“My heart is filled with gratitude to God Almighty as we witness this New Year, with joy, great hope, and an assurance of God’s promises for our great nation,” she stated.
She praised the unyielding spirit of the citizenry, drawing inspiration from their daily struggles and contributions. “The past year reaffirmed the enduring spirit of Nigerians: our courage, our strength, our creativity, and our unwavering belief in a better tomorrow. I am deeply inspired by the women, men, and young people across the nation who continue to work tirelessly to uplift their families, communities, and our country,” the First Lady remarked.
As Nigeria steps into 2026 amid ongoing economic reforms and national aspirations under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, Mrs. Tinubu called for proactive unity and empathy. “As we embrace this New Year, let us choose peace, empathy, unity and continue to invest in the wellbeing of our children, women and the vulnerable among us,” she implored. “Let us create opportunities in our individual space that allows every Nigerian to thrive with dignity.”
