Support for the 2023 presidential candidate of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar gained further expansion as Yoruba people operating under the auspices of Yoruba Awareness Forum (YAF), in the 19 Northern States and Abuja have declared their total support for the presidential bid of the PDP candidate.
The National Co-coordinator of the group, Otunba Olusegun Folorunso, who disclosed this to Journalists in Kaduna said their decision to support Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was taken at a well-attended delegates meeting of the 19 Northern States and Abuja Chapters of the Association in Kaduna penultimate week.
The group, according to Otunba Folorunso is a voluntary association of sons, daughters and in-laws of Yoruba in Northern Nigeria and has been in existence since 1999 with the major aim of advising Yoruba positively on national issues.
The National Coordinator of the Yoruba group who is a former Director of Media and Publicity of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State enumerated the reasons for their decision to support Atiku.
“We have seen that Atiku has the capability to address national insecurity of lives and property, to improve economic hardship all over the country and the capability to make Nigeria a country of National Pride.
“Our endorsement of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who is married to Hajiya Titi Atiku Abubakar who hails from Ilesha Osun State also extends to other candidates of the PDP across the 19 Northern States and Abuja”.
