2023 World Cancer Day: DNKI Cross River State Chapter, urges more public awareness

De Norsemen Kclub International, Cross River State Chapter ably led by The Patrol Guv’nor, Sir Peter Undiandeye MON, supports The Medical Women Association of Nigeria, Cross River State Chapter as they marked her World Cancer Day in Calabar metropolitan on 4th February, 2023.

De Norsemen Kclub International is a non political organization with Humanitarian services mantra hence the collaboration with the MWAN. The power point benefit of the event after the City Road Walk includes free medical care; Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening for the women and Prostrate Cancer Screening for the men.

In his speech, The Patrol Guv’nor thanked the Medical Women Association of Nigeria (MWAN) for the steadfastness, commitment and dedication towards reaching out to the less privilege through medical attention particularly at this critical time that Nigerians are going through economic hardship. He prayed God to strengthen and bless them immensely. Addressing the crowd he said that breast and cervical cancers were the number one killers of women worldwide.

According to Sir Undiandeye, cancer diagnosis is not a death sentence, saying that death rate is declining because of early detection and early treatment.

Undiandeye, said that everyone should be involved in the awareness and prevention campaign because breast, Cervical cancer occurs in female gender while Prostrate Cancer occurs in male, stating that regular personal checks was key for prevention.

He mentioned some of the preventive measures as more low fat food, high fibre diets on natural foods, engaging in daily exercise, taking brisk walk, 30 minute daily to reduce the hormonal levels, stress level and cancer causing agents in the body.

He further, mentioned reduction of alcohol intake, reducing of stress, improve sleep to prevent cancer in the body.

He summarily, promised to work closely with MWAN to enable De Norsemen International Kclub key into their medical outreach.
