The 2nd edition of Umo Eno Easter Unity Cup tagged Umo Eno Easter victory tournament has received a major boost as the MD/CEO of Brooks & Rolls, Ubong Inyang officially endorsed the tournament.
Presenting the official tournament insignia were the members of LOC led by its chairman, Ita Peters.
Presenting the overview, Ita Peters noted that Grassroots Sports Federation of Nigeria (GRASOF) has contributed immensely to the development of grassroots football majoring in discovering of budding talents who are now making names for themselves as well as daily survival in the likes of Ubong Ekpai, Ubong Friday, Blessing Essien, fomer Barcelonan winger, Ezekiel Bassey, Kufre Ebong, etc.
He said that 5 players from the recently concluded 2nd edition of the NDDC U17 Cup in Asaba made it to the National U17 squad, adding that Umo Eno Easter unity Cup started last year which had about 18 Grassroots teams jostled for the trophy and price money.
The LOC further said that the Governor -elect was physically present and personally performed the kickoff during the closing ceremony/grand finale of the maiden edition.
Peters, explained that the 2nd edition is tagged “Victory Tournament” as it’s seeks to celebrate the victory of Umo Eno in the just concluded guber poll.
He disclosed that the draws for the tournament is billed for tomorrow 3rd April by 10am at Discovery Park Arena by Udoumana while the tournament kicks off on Wednesday, 5th April at the Nest of Champions training pitch, Godswill Akpabio international Stadium by 1pm.
The LOC chairman used the opportunity to invite all sport enthusiasts to come out on Wednesday to watch grassroots stars on parade as its promises to be explosive.
The CEO of Brooks and Rolls Nig. Ltd, Ubong Inyang, who incidentally is son of the soil and a business mogul while responding applauded the ingenuity of the organizers of the tournament as he pledged his total commitments and cooperation to the success of this 2nd edition.
The elated entrepreneur expressed optimism that pastor Umo Eno’s administration will bring succour and put smiles in the faces of Akwa Ibom Youths and the enter Akwaibomites.
It could be recalled that the maiden edition of the tournament was won by Dynamics FC, while Olegacy FC and Miracle Fc emerged runner up and 3rd place respectively with trophies, medals and prize monies presented the teams.
