A chieftain of the peoples Democratic (PDP), Chief Chinedu Eya has warned the former deputy Senate, Prof. Ike Ekweremadu to henceforth, prune down his friends list or risk being sorounded by political saboteurs, planted to checkmate his activities ahead of 2023.
Eya, who gave the precautionary measures following a major political rally in the state, organized by the former Governor of Enugu State a few days ago, Sen. Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani, in support of the Governor’s would-be-successor in 2023, cautioned that only a highly disciplined followership of Ekweremadu should be accommodated by the former ECOWAS speaker in his threshold, henceforth.
Recall that Eya had released similar statement 24 hours ago, warning that “the gang up rally against the Enugu West Senator”, under a certain solidarity visit, ahead of 2023 will collapse.
In a statement, personally signed by chief Eya who quoted biblical portions to buttress his points, he explained that even the scripture was clear on what to do if confronted with the kind of challenge currently faced by the lawmaker.
“In Matthew 3:12 the scripture stated and I quote: ‘His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
“This is where I call on Prof. Ekweremadu to as a matter of urgency, burn up the chaff in the mold of friends around him with unquestionable fire.
“It is clear they have come to steal, kill and destroy him”, Eya concluded.
The former Senatorial Aspirant further stated that he was not up against anybody in the state, but fighting for the survival of democracy and exercise of human rights in the state.
