The Ogun State Police Station Command has admonished the politicians to adhere to the rules spelt out by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during the ongoing campaigns by various political parties across the country.

Addressing journalists in his office, Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Abiodun Ayinde, reminded politicians to maintain peace and avoid utterances which may derail their campaigns.

He added that hate speech, rancour, bickering and thuggery will not be tolerated, while issue based campaigns should be their watchword.

The DPO, however, warned hoodlums to steer clear to jungle politics that could lead to any trouble, adding that the police will deal ruthlessly with whosoever jeopardises any campaign.

He also reminded the politicians seeking elective posts in Ifo Local government that the Command would soon invite them to sign a peace deal for the electioneering campaigns.
