The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Candidate in the 2023 general elections, Alhaji Umar Mohammed Bago has appointed former commissioner for information, culture and tourism in the state, Mr. Jonathan Vatsa, as the spokesperson his campaign council.
Also appointed is a retired General Mohammed A. Garba as the Director General of the over 1,000 strong member Campaign Council that will prosecute the Governorship campaign for the 2023 in the state.
The Governorship Candidate, announced the appointments in Minna on Sunday when he inaugurated 22 out of 24 directorates of the Campaign Council with 1,000 members.
The Deputy Governorship candidate, Comrade Yakubu Garba who inaugurated the campaign council on behalf of the Governorship candidate, urged the members of the campaign council to immediately hit the ground running “because the party can not afford to loose the state to an opposition in the general elections.
He said all the members of the campaign council were carefully selected based on their track records and therefore a lot is expected from them, adding that “the task is operation deliver APC candidates at all the elections”.
He charged all party members, and members of the campaign council to be patient with each other in the cause of discharging their duties, and share ideas with the sole aim of lunching the party to victory in the state and at the National level.
“You are expected to use your tremendous experiences on how to win the forthcoming elections with ease. That is the task ahead”.
Comrade Garba challenged other party faithfuls to do everything legally possible to ensure that they deliver their units, wards and local government to justify the trust and confidence reposed in them.
In his acceptance speech, the Director General of the council, General Mohammed Garba said he and other members of the Campaign Council accepted the mandate given to them with appreciation and therefore assured the party and all the candidates that they will do their best in ensuring that the APC wins in the 2023 general elections at all levels
Also, the Director of Media and Publicity, Mr Jonathan Tsado Vatsa in an interview said that the goal is to win elections, hence the need to strategize for the task ahead.
