Archbishop Metropolitan and Primate of all Nigeria, Henry Ndukuba, has warned that this year would be a make or mar year for Nigeria, urging citizens to make good use of the opportunity of February 25 and March 15 elections to restore the country.
The cleric said the country was at the cross road as confusion, insecurity and poverty have decimated it, stressing that Nigeria now needed men and women of honour, integrity and who have the fear of God as leaders.
Ndukuba preaching a sermon entitled: “In search for a Herald,” at the Cathedral Church of St. Cyprian, Abakpa, Nike Diocese, Enugu State during a retirement service of the Provost of the Cathedral, Chinedu Nebo, 70th birthday of his wife, Dame Ify, and their 45th wedding anniversary.
He said: “In the forthcoming general election, I think that 2023 is a make or mare year for Nigeria. All of us must determine to make a change, if what we have gone through in the past seven and half years is not acceptable to us, let us demonstrate it in coming out with our PVCs to vote in those people who will be able to serve this nation. People who are credible, people who have the fear of God, people who have regard for the ordinary citizens of this country.”
Speaking about the celebrant, who was former vice chancellor of University of Nigeria (UNN) and former Minister of Power, the primate said Nebo should be a perfect example for Christian men and women who go into politics.
