2023: Isuaniocha, Amanuke, Urum, Achalla rally behind Ekwunife

The return bid of Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Uche Ekwunife received a major boost during the week following the unanimous resolutions of Isu Aniocha, Amanuke, Urum and Achalla communities to back her candidature.

The endorsements were granted to Ekwunife , candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) during her communal interactions with constituents of her Senatorial zone in line with the campaign activities for election into the 10th Senate.

The aforementioned communities hinged their decisions to support Ekwunife owing to the avalanche of her infrastructural development projects, Empowerments and legislative exploits at the 9th Senate where she currently presides.

The Chairman Senate Committee on Science and Technology held fruitful interactions with her constituents at Amaumunaga Village Square, Ifiteora civic center, Umuelum village, Amagu Town Hall in Urum, Achalla, Amanuke and Isuaniocha communities.

At “Urum” Ekwunife received the community’s endorsement through its Traditional ruler, HRH Igwe Benedict when she paid Homage To his Royal Palace in order intimate the Monarch and his cabinet members of her re-election quest. The Monarch lauded the lawmaker for facilitating tangible projects for the community as well as her proactive legislative renditions in the 9th Senate, adding that Ekwunife has done well to deserve their votes.

Benedict outlined Ekwunife’s legislative impacts; “As the custodian of culture and traditions of Urum being one of the oldest traditional rulers in the State, I have a better experience to understand what development means and I must state categorically that Ekwunife has attracted true development to our Zone.

“I and my people have unanimously agreed irrespective of political parties and religious affiliation to rally support for Ekwunife and ensure her emergence in the February 25th elections”.

Reference was made to Ekwunife’s philanthropic acts at “Isuaniocha” where she received the endorsements of the community via it’s Youth Leader and President General ; Chief Onyemazu Ngini and Chief Paul Okoye.

At the residence of the youth Leader, Ngini all the community stakeholders present maintained that the electorates will choose their candidates based on their personality and track record stating that Ekwunife has earned the community’s mandate as result of her sterling legislative outing. Chief Okoye cited how Ekwunife built and furnished a self contained bungalow for a widow in the community, adding that no Lawmaker has achieved such in the community.

On behalf of his people the traditional Leader of “Amanuke”, HRH, Igwe Alphonsus Chijindu Ezebuilo ratified Ekwunife’s return bid pointing her courage and zeal to develop their areas as their reason for supporting her continuity at the Senate.

Furthermore, The President General of Amanuke, Chief Sir Sam Okoye declared the community’s support for the Lawmaker. He said ; “Ekwunife has changed the narrative of representation in the zone, and we shall support her massively in return, she is the one that God chose specially to develop our Zone”.

Arriving by Achalla Ekwunife paid tribute to the late Monarch of Achalla, Late Igwe Alex Nwokedi. Onowu Achalla, Chief John Nwokoye represented the Traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Barr Ositadimma Sunny Nwokedi called on the people to cast their votes for Ekwunife stating that she had performed creditably well to deserve their votes.

Some of the projects built as mentioned by Ekwunife and confirmed by the community stakeholders were ; the installation of Solar Street lights, Rehabilitation of Schools, Construction of Solar Powered Boreholes, erosion control and asphalting of Igwe Nwokedi road, Achalla, and Construction of Igwe Nwokedi road, provision of tricycles for commercial drivers, reconstruction of community primary school, Achalla, facilitation of Federal Government grants and pensionable jobs amongst other achievements.

Ekwunife thanked each community leader for their cooperation and support ,pledging her commitment to do more when she returns to office.

On Ekwunife’s team were; PDP House of Representatives candidate for Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Chief Emeka Vincent Igwe; PDP State Assembly Candidate for Awka North Constituency, Hon John Nwokoye and other PDP Chieftains.
