A member of the House of Representatives from Taraba State, Usman Shiddi, has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) is the most preferred political party in Taraba South Senatorial zone.
Shiddi, who is the APC senatorial candidate in Taraba South, in 2023 general elections, said he has no doubt that he would defeat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the zone, Governor Darius Ishiaku.
However, the lawmaker, while speaking at a press briefing, in Abuja, stated that his supporters are allegedly been intimidated by state government. Nevertheless, he urged his supporters to remain law abiding, despite the provocation.
According to him, ” We are being intimidated all over. And all these are geared towards the 2023 election. It is obvious that the governor of Taraba knows he is losing.
” APC is waiting for election even tomorrow. that February is even too long for us. If they say the election is tomorrow, I am prepared for it.
“We are law abiding citizens and would continue to appeal to our people, not to take the laws into their hands. And continue to explore all judicial processes, all that we can do to ensure justice is done to our people and to ensure democracy thrives in Taraba.
” We would not encourage anarchy and any breakdown of law and order. We would work hard to ensure the right thing is done.”
