Anglican Bishop of Minna Diocese, Rt. Rev Daniel Yisa, has called on Christians in the country to be actively involved in choosing the leaders of their choice in the forthcoming general elections.
He gave this advice at the first session of the 10th Synod at the Cathedral Church of St. Peter, Minna, stressing that “there is no spiritual or scriptural inhibitor to Christians actively participating in the politics of the country.”
According to him, political illiteracy and other vices are responsible for the delineation between religion and politics in the country. In his message entitled: “Can Politics and Religion Mix, Bishop Yisa said good governance and participation in politics are the pathway to getting things right.
“I will call on Christian politicians in the country to join hands with God-fearing politicians in other faith so that the country can be better off,” he said.
