Gunmen on Saturday night killed two soldiers and three policemen in coordinated attacks on two checkpoints in Enugu.
The gunmen first attacked a military checkpoint at Amechi Idodo in Nkanu East Local Government Area, Enugu State before proceeding to the border checkpoint along Enugu/Abakaliki expressway, where they killed three policemen who were manning a checkpoint.
Another policeman who was shot in the leg during the attack was said to be receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.
The Police in Ebonyi and Abakaliki are yet to confirm the incident.
