The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has reported that two individuals were injured in a car accident on the Agbara-Badagry expressway in Lagos State on Monday.
Mr. William Manga, the FRSC Commander of the Badagry Unit, confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), stating that the incident occurred around 12:54 a.m. The FRSC was notified at approximately 12:57 a.m., and officers reached the accident site, involving a car and a truck, by 1:02 a.m.
The accident took place at the Ibereko Barracks section of the Badagry expressway and involved a Howo truck with registration number KZR73ZT and a Mazda car with registration number KTU900BK. Upon arrival at 1:02 a.m., FRSC personnel found that a male and a female had sustained injuries. They were promptly taken to the General Hospital, Badagry, for medical treatment.
The FRSC official attributed the crash to speeding and reckless overtaking. Manga advised motorists using the Agbara-Badagry expressway to be cautious due to the single lane currently in operation. He emphasized the importance of adhering to speed limits and conducting regular vehicle checks to promptly identify and address any faults.
