187 robbers, 34 kidnappers, others arrested in Kano in 2024

A total of 187 suspected armed robbers and 34 suspected kidnappers were arrested by the Kano State Police Command in 2O24.

Speaking at a press conference, Tuesday, Kano State Commissioner of Police, Salma Dogo Garba said 10 suspected cattle rustlers, two suspected gunners, 55 drug dealers and 15 human trafficking suspects were equally arrested within the year.

Others arrrested included 46 tricycle thieves, 26 suspected motorcycle thieves, 27 suspected fraudsters, four suspected forgers and 1987 suspected thugs.

The pllice boss also disclosed that the../ rescued 49 human trafficking victims, 13 kidnapped victims as well as two abduction victims within the year.

Accirding to him, the police h recovered the equivalent of N129, 542, 823, 000. 00 in counterfeit currencies, N48
932,000.00 in real currencies, 1,213 live ammunition, 57 cutlasses ,198 sharp motor vehicles, 12 sharp knives and 44 motor cycles among others

Gsrba said that the strategies they deployed with the year were yielding positive results while assuring that they would recommit themselves to these strategies in other to safeguard the state from criminals in the year ahead
