16 artists to storm A Ibom 2025 Christmas village show

No fewer than 16 performing artists are set to grace the Akwa Ibom Christmas Village for the 2025 Christmas festival, offering visitors the chance to explore the state’s tourism potential.

At a monthly media briefing, the State Commissioner for Information, Dr Aniekan Umanah, announced that Governor Umo Eno will open the Christmas Village under the theme “Celebrating Culture, Inspiring Innovation”, with the yuletide season designated to showcase Akwa Ibom’s tourism resources.

Dr Umanah, accompanied by Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Dr Anieti Udofia, Chairman of the Akwa Ibom Hotels Management and Tourism Board Mrs Imaobong Akpan, and Chief Press Secretary to Governor Umo Eno, Mr Ekerete Udoh, explained that the 32-day Christmas fiesta would feature daily tourism activities, children’s parties, Christmas carols, live programmes, drinks, and the prominent display of Akwa Ibom cuisine.

“This year, the Akwa Ibom State Government will host a Pavilion at the Christmas Village where government agencies can showcase their roles and take part in the state’s tourism showcase.

“On 19 December, we will host our Carol Night with 20 choral groups performing.
“Kiosks have been allocated to interested members of the public and the Christmas Village will open today at 7 p.m.

“Artistes invited include Mercy Chinwo, Progress Effiong, and other artistes from outside Akwa Ibom.”
