The Captain of Ilorin Golf Club, Luqman Yahaya, says the two-day 2nd Harmony Open Golf Championship in Ilorin, Kwara State, is expected to draw no fewer than 150 participants in multiple categories.

Yahaya stated that preparations are underway to guarantee a hitch-free tournament, scheduled to take place between November 10 and November 11.

He revealed that Sluqfort Nigeria Limited, a Golf Tour and Marketing outfit headed by Mr. Lukman Owolewa is marketing the championship that has attracted entries from golf clubs across the country.

Yahaya explained that to ensure a smooth event and hospitable experience for participants, the club’s Board of Trustees under the Chairmanship of retired Justice Lambo Akanbi, had met with the club management and the marketer, and contributed towards a successful staging of the competition.

He said other members of the BoT are Yusuf Sagaya, Otunba Adekanola, Layi Maliki and Funsho Abogunrin.

According to the captain, the BoT members are not only pulling their resources together but also throwing their weight behind the event as they have all invited several of their friends from outside the state to grace the occasion.

The game will tee off at 7 a.m. on November 11. The closing ceremony and presentation of prizes will be held at the club’s ultra-modern Club House by 7 p.m. on Saturday.
