A total of 120 victims were killed by fire outbreaks, road accidents or tragic incidents involving ponds and wells in different parts of Kano State.
A round-off statement by the Kano State Fire Service, signed by Saminu Yusif Abdullahi further remarked that property estimated at N6,476, 144,742 were lost to fire outbreaks in the past year.

According to statistics of the service, residential fire outbreaks increased to 376 cases from the figure of the previous year adding that they received 665 cases of fire incidents, conducted 130 operations and attended to 48 false calls or alarms.
They, however, disclosed that 91 people were successfully rescued in the year, the same for property valued at N15,325,465,767, which were saved in 2025.
The Director, Kano Fire Service, Sani Anas, in his New Year message, urged the public to adopt proper fire safety measures and handle fire- related activities with extra care in order to reduce incidents of fire disasters across the state.
