President Muhammadu Buhari has been endorsed by 12 members of the Forum of Presidential candidates of political parties for good governance.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, in a statement said Chairman of the Forum, Shitu Mohammed Kabir of the Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA), told Buhari that they decided to throw in their lots with him because of advances made in security, economy, fighting corruption, infrastructural development, agricultural revolution, and many others.

“As a group of political parties committed to the realization of a new Nigeria, we identify with these laudable feats of the president, which are in proximity with ours, as exemplified in our manifestoes. We, therefore, wish to support President Buhari’s candidacy in the coming election, and direct all our teeming members across the length and breadth of Nigeria to go out in their numbers, to vote for APC candidates, Muhammadu Buhari/Yemi Osinbajo, in the coming election,” he was quoted to have said.

Adesina, said the 12 presidential candidates have directed all their members and supporters to vote for President Buhari in Saturday’s election.

In spite of the endorsement, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar has said the poll offers Nigerians an opportunity to oust an incumbent president,  like what obtained in 2015 .

Atiku,  who stated this in a facebook broadcast,  yesterday,  urged electorate to turn out enmass to participate in the exercise.

The former vice president expressed optimism that in tomorrow’s presidential poll,  President Buhari would be voted out, same way President Goodluck Jonathan was voted out in 2015.

However,  the PDP candidate warned that if Nigerians failed to come out and vote, “you will be accepting that the next four years will be like the last.

“The reasons we have elections is to allow us to have our voices heard on how we have been governed for the last four years and who will govern us for the next four years.

“On March 28, 2015, we the people of Nigeria went to our polling units armed only with our PVCs and yet we were able to remove an incumbent president from office. That made me very proud to be a Nigerian and a democrat. This Saturday, we’ll have the opportunity to do so again. My message to you is simple: Please come out to vote as this election is about your future and the future of our great nation.”
