11 person charged to court for alleged land encroachment in Kano

The Public Complaints Commission (PCC) has dragged 11 persons to court for trespassing on grazing reserves in Bagwai Local Government Area of Kano State.

The accused were dragged a Kano magistrate Court sitting at No man’s land area in Sabon Garri, Kano.

The Public Relations Officer of the Commission, Garba Mu’azu confirmed the development in a statement at the weekend.

According to the statement, the action followed a complaint lodged by some concerned citizens of the area before the Commission on land encroachment and distruction of Kwajale and Janruwa grazing lands in Bagwai Local Government of Kano State

He quoted the Federal Commissioner of commission in Kano State, Ahmad Ado Dadinkowa as saying that cases of alleged encroachment calls for attention given the fact that it was capable of degenerating into a crisis between farmers and herders, which can escalate in bigger conflict in the area

The Commissioner further urged the general public to be mindful and desist from doing anything contrary to the provisions of the law to avoid any conflict.
