10th Assembly: Group backs Aminu Jaji for Speaker

A group, the Northern Youths for Good Leadership and Governance (NYGLG), has thrown its weight behind the aspiration of Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji for the 10th House of Representatives speaker.

Jaji, a member-elect to represent Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency of Zamfara State was chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on National Security, Intelligence and Public Safety in the 8th Assembly.

National president of NYGLG, Comrade Labaran Abubakar, in a statement on Tuesday said going by his antecedents, Jaji is not only the best of all the contenders but also the most suitable.

“Jaji is known to be at the forefront of efforts to reform Nigeria’s electoral system and has also been a vocal advocate for the rights of his constituents. He initiated several projects aimed at improving their standard of living.

“His candidacy for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives has been endorsed by several groups and individuals across the country. They rely on his wealth of experience, integrity, and commitment to service as some of the reasons he is the best candidate for the job.

“Jaji has also promised to work towards ensuring that the House of Representatives is more transparent, accountable, vibrant, and responsive to the needs and aspirations of Nigerians.

“His vast experience, integrity, and commitment to service make him the best candidate for the job. If elected, Jaji has promised to work towards ensuring that the House of Representatives is more transparent, accountable, and responsive to the needs of Nigerians,” the statement reads in part.
