Zamfara State Police Command has successfully rescued six out of the victims that were recently kidnapped by bandits at Kaura Namoda LGA.

A statement written by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Yezid Abubakar, read that the breakthrough took place when a joint police and Community Protection Guard team was on highway patrol along Anka-Gummi Road.

The Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba, commended the operatives for their prompt response and reassured the public of the command’s relentless efforts in collaboration with sister security agencies to rescue all kidnapped victims and ensure the safety of lives and property across the state. 

Maikaba further urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest security agency for immediate action.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the command to rescue all abducted persons in the state.

Narrating the incident, DSP Yezid Abubakar said, while on patrol, an abandoned ash-coloured Peugeot 206 was sighted by the side of the road.  Suspecting a kidnapping incident, security operatives immediately launched a search operation, leading to the safe recovery of the six victims.

Yezid described the gesture as an unwavering effort to restore peace and security in Zamfara state.

The victims rescued were Bakiru Muhammad Masama, Alh Dan Tani Masama,  Aminu Aliyu Bukkuyum, Ahmad Muhammad Masama, Umar Sa’ idu Ruwan Jema and Shehu Mulluwa. They have since been reunited with their families, he said.
