From Attahiru Ahmed Gusau

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic  Party (PDP)  in Zamfara State, Alhaji Kado Yahaya slumped and died yesterday.

He was the interim chairman of the party in the state. His family confirmed the death to Daily Sun in Gusau.

Late Kado Yahaya allegedly slumped last Saturday at the Tudun Wada collation centre in Gusau after the PDP ward congress  in the state.

He was appointed an interim chairman  three days before the ongoing congress by two thirds of the state’s party executive council members.

A source close to the PDP office in the state disclosed that Yahaya slumped and died on the spot when he learned that the collated votes were allegedly manipulated by the congress committee.

Daily Sun gathered that the late chairman, who has since been buried according to Islamic rite in his home town, Gusau, was a strong loyalist of the 2015 PDP governorship candidate, Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi.

It was further gathered that,the late PDP Chairman was not happy with a meeting alleged to have held shortly after collation of results between the embattled suspended Chairman and some members of the congress committee assigned by national headquarters to monitor the state congress.

The interim Chairman was  shocked with the development,while making a call to alert some party bigwigs, he instantly slumped and died.

It was learned that,the party has splited into three camps allegedly led by Senator Hassan Nasiha with former member house of representatives Bello Muhammad Mutawalle, former member house of representatives Hon. Ibrahim Shehu Bakauye and the former governor Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi with late PDP interim chairman Alhaji kado Yahaya.
