Nasarawa state government have joined christians all over the world to felicitated with christians in the state on the celebration of the fest of Christmas in commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, while urging road uses to obey traffic rules towards mitigating road crashes.

This was contained in a statement signed by Dr. Emmanuel A. Akabe, the Acting Governor, on behalf of His Excellency, Abdullahi Sule, sent to journalist on Saturday saying the birth of Jesus Christ, symbolizes love, peace, humility and, indeed, dignity for humankind.

” it is for this reason that Jesus Christ epitomizes self-sacrifice, good neighborliness, charity and reconciliation among human race. This festive season, therefore, calls for sober reflection and reaffirmation of moral rectitude as exemplified by Jesus Christ.”

He further used the opportunity of this festive celebration to call on all Christians in the State and in diaspora to imbibe the virtues and teachings of Jesus Christ by showing affection and sharing of love with one another at all times as enshrined in the Holy Book.

“Let me also take the liberty of this blissful occasion to remind all Christians on the significance of this sacred period to continue to pray for the sustainable peace, health wellbeing and prosperity of our nation.

“It is also pertinent to note that this period epitomizes immense blessings and sacrifice, I, therefore, call on you all to take advantage of this festive season to pray for peaceful transition, security and harmonious co-existence of the people of our dear State and the country at large.”

He however, advised Christians to celebrate this Christmas season in you steadfastness and prayerful with all sense of humility, avoiding extravagance and flamboyant lifestyle and be guided by the fear of God at all times.

He therefore called on all road users to be cautious and considerate, urging them to obey traffic rules and regulations so as to ensure safety on roads during the festivities and beyond.

“In this regard, let me re-echo that, the officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission and other relevant agencies are obliged to step up their operations and surveillance to ensure accident-free yuletide season.”
