As part of measures to cushion the effects of the hard times during the yuletide,a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO),Chinedu and Vivian Humanitarian Foundation has distributed food items to indigent residents in the Owerri metropolis.

While distributing the items,founder of the NGO, Reverend Chinedu Nmezi,represented at the occasion by pastor Samuel Ohaechesi explained, that the foundation was born out of love to “help the less prevelleged in the society and empower them with the word of God.

“We are here again, to ease the pains of most individuals whom God will give the opportunity to share from what he has blessed us with. It is with great humility that we are here to put smiles on your faces; and to reassure you that God is very much mindful of you”.

The foundation also expressed appreciation to Chief Executive Officer of the U2 Aluminum Limited,Chief Ugochukwu Ebirim,traditional ruler of Amawom Community; His Royal Highness, Eze Peter Njemanze and other Volunteers in the charity organisation who contributed to the success of the occasion.

Speaking on the topic, “Help From The Lord”, which was read from Psalms, chapter 121, Ohaechesi, who was a guest preacher at the occasion urged Christians to always put their trust in God, emphasising that it is the only finisher of their hope.

Ohaechesi said “Do not allow the present situation in Nigeria to weigh you down. I want you to know that he is the author and finisher of our faith”.

In his speech at the ceremony, the traditional ruler of Amawom community, in the Owerri Municipal Council Area, Eze Peter Njemanze, commended the donor and his wife for their humanitarian gestures towards ensuring the indigent ones were fed.

One of the beneficiary, a widower, Mr. Beniah Nwachukwu, thanked the donors for remembering them in this crucial time of the season,he confessed that his family has been going through a lot to make both ends meet. according to him, things had been difficult for them.

“I am so delighted that I benefitted from this offer today. May God bless him so abundantly’, he prayed.
