A coalition of youth and women groups in Nasarawa State has urged Mohammed Musa Maikaya, the Ciroman Toto, to contest the 2027 governorship election, citing his humanitarian service and inclusive leadership.
The Nasarawa Youths Coalition for Ciroman Toto held a press briefing in Lafia on Monday, May 19, to make the appeal.
Coalition leader Yahaya David praised Maikaya’s contributions to education, youth and women empowerment, and support for the underprivileged.
“Your consistency and unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes, despite your previous unsuccessful attempt at the exalted position, has not gone unnoticed,” David said, describing Maikaya as a bridge between elites and masses.
The coalition believes Maikaya’s leadership can unite and develop Nasarawa. “Nasarawa State stands at a critical juncture where transformational leadership is not just desired but essential,” they stated, highlighting his borehole projects, electricity restoration, scholarships, and business support initiatives.
Youth leaders across Nasarawa’s 13 local government areas expressed confidence in Maikaya’s potential victory. “We urge you, Your Excellency, to heed this call—not for ambition, but for duty,” the coalition concluded.
