A social media war is brewing between Paul Ibe, Media Adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and former presidential aide, Reno Omokri.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Ibe mocked Omokri, who supported Atiku before the 2023 presidential election, over his new-found love for President Bola Tinubu.

He shared a screenshot of Omokri’s pre-2023 social media post which was highly critical of the president.

Omokri’s post allegedly referred to Tinubu as a man who lacked dental hygiene and was a bed wetter.

Ibe said, “Reno Omokri, since you claim deep familiarity with Scripture, perhaps it’s time the mirror of the Bible was held to your face.

“For a man who parades himself as a pastor, your conduct reeks of contradiction — not unfamiliar to the pages of sacred text, but sadly, you resemble not the righteous but the reprobate.”

He compared Omokri to the Biblical Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus Christ his master.

“You flatter Atiku in private, yet dance publicly with Tinubu’s minions.

“You kiss with praise, but your heart trades loyalty for political relevance. A Wi-Fi Judas — Connected, Calculated, and Corrupt in conviction,” Ibe said.

Ibe also compared Omokri, who leads the US-based Mind of Christ Christian Centre, to the Biblical Ananias and Sapphira, who attempted to deceive the apostles by lying about proceeds from a property sale.

He said, “You wear the garment of a preacher, but traffic in lies like a street vendor of falsehood.

“Your declarations of loyalty are rehearsed, your convictions auctioned to the highest bidder. Today, Atiku. Tomorrow, Tinubu. Always for sale.”

Atiku’s aide further compared Omokri to the Biblical hypocritical Pharisees, saying, “Your piety is public, but your principles are dead.

“You quote Scripture while scheming, tweet morality while sowing division, and mask ambition as activism. A tax collector for hire in a priest’s robe.”

He added that like the Biblical Absalom, Omokri “woos the naïve with charisma and charm, not for service, but self-elevation”.

He stated, “Your politics is a personal uprising cloaked in concern. You don’t serve ideas — you serve yourself. Pick a god, Reno.”

He further stated, “Reno, your tragedy is not that you don’t know Scripture. It is that you do — and still choose to live on the wrong side of it.”

Omokri has not responded to Ibe’s diatribe as of press time.
