Commend President for appointing Danfulani as NAIC boss
From Noah Ebije, Kaduna
The Northern Yoruba Agenda for Tinubu (NOYAT), a non-governmental organisation, has pledged to mobilise 10 million votes in Northern Nigeria for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
In 2022, NOYAT held a national prayer summit for Tinubu’s presidential ambition at Arewa House, Kaduna, attended by Islamic scholars from various northern states.
The organisation commended President Tinubu for appointing Yazeed Shehu Danfulani as the new Managing Director of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC), describing the appointment as a reward for competence and a boost for youth inclusion in governance.
In a statement on Wednesday, June 11, jointly signed by National Coordinator Hon. Rasheed Adekeye and Publicity Secretary Mr. Seun Ogunyinka, NOYAT said Danfulani’s appointment has restored confidence among young professionals in the North, showcasing Tinubu’s commitment to empowering credible technocrats regardless of age or political influence.
“Our goal is clear: to deliver no fewer than 10 million votes for President Tinubu in 2027. We are not just showing appreciation; we are already on the move. Our mobilisation has begun across the entire North,” the statement read.
“Our vote pledge is not a slogan. We will deliver the votes because we believe in what this administration is building. And we will not stop until the votes are fully counted in the North on election day.
“We can assure that structures are being set up in local governments and wards across the region to coordinate outreach, register first-time voters, and build a broad coalition of youth voices in support of the administration.
“This is about numbers and vision. With the right leadership, the Northern region can become the agricultural powerhouse of Nigeria, and we believe President Tinubu is seeing it that way. Our support for him in 2027 will be massive and well-organised.
“Northern Yoruba Agenda for Tinubu is reaffirming its commitment to working with stakeholders, traditional institutions, and community leaders to ensure that relevant voices are heard and listened to for influential national discourse.
“We want to applaud President Tinubu for this well-considered appointment. We know that Yazeed Danfulani is a tested, trusted, and transformative leader. His emergence is a strong signal that this administration is serious about driving economic growth through capable hands.
“The President’s decision to entrust Danfulani with a critical role in the agricultural sector is a masterstroke, particularly at a time when the government is pushing for food security and economic stability,” the statement added.
