Executive Chairman, Yaba Local Council Development Area, Kayode Omiyale, has launched an e-learning centre, where youths from various communities would acquire free training and certification in information technology.
Launching the hub filled with 275 desktop and laptop computers, Omiyale said it is capable of unlocking potentials, fostering innovation and driving economic development from the grassroots level.
While emphasising the importance of the library which was transformed to an e-learning centre, the chairman stated the initiative would further enhance productivity and promote self reliance and inspire young people into system analysis, robotics, coding, programming and cyber security.
“The E-Learning Centre equipped with 275 desktop and laptop computers will provide practical and hands-on education for residents of various communities to acquire transferable skills and set them on the path towards self-discovery and intellectual growth.
“The library, which was built in Yaba Local Council Development, a long time ago was transformed to an E-Learning Centre to enhance productivity and promote self reliance as young people learn skills in system analysis, robotics, coding, programming and cybersecurity.
The state of the art IT hub facilitated through collaboration with Zero Stress Consults and Solutions will upscale training opportunities in information technology for the youths in Yaba Local Council Development Area.
In partnership with consultants, the council leadership will use the e-learning centre to groom experts in ICT and ensure that youth are well equipped with all the resources needed to attain self reliance,” he stated.
The e-learning centre will be open to free training, five days in a week, as the council extends the dividend of democracy by laying the foundation for a brighter future for the youth.
