Fast rising singer, Esther Osaro Ehinmwingbovo aka Xstar Song, has hit the airwaves with a new single titled, Adegheosa (If not God).

According to Esther, who grew up in a family of musicians, music has been her passion right from childhood.

“I have been singing all my life, growing up from a music family. My dad is a musician and my grandmother has her own cultural troupe, and my aunty is also a musician. So, I grew up practically inside music, though I started professionally four years ago. I play in Surprise Pub and Café, and different other lounges,” she said.

Explaining further, Xstar Song said her commitment to her calling has paid off, as it has made her to be nominated to represent the state in the United Kingdom.

“I recently shot my first music video and it will drop alongside my audio. Xstar Song would soon be unveiled, and my concert is coming up this month. Based on my dedication, I recently got recognised by J.J Barry conglomerate as one of the artistes in Benin that are being taken to London and Manchester for the Edo Festival Awards slated for November 16 and 23. So, going to the UK to perform will actually open doors for other young artistes in the state, because it will serve as an inspiration to them, especially our Edo community in the diaspora.”

Xstar, who is also a caterer and make up artist, said though she is scared of record labels, she is comfortable with Real Knock Entertainment.

“I have always been scared of record labels because I have seen and heard stories of artistes being forced to do certain things, because they want to meet up with record labels and at the end of the day, they are reaped off and left stranded. But I recently signed a management deal with Real Knock Entertainment, which belongs to Chief Matthew Oshodin, the Eni of Ujiogba who also doubles as the executive producer of Adegheosa project. He has always been my guide through this new phase of my life and everything concerning music.”

X-raying some of the challenges faced by female artistes, especially the up and coming ones, Xstar said they suffer more harassment than their male counterparts. She, therefore, advised them to be patient and know what they want, and not give in to any pressure of any kind.

In his remarks, Chief Oshodin said that Nigerians have a lot to gain from Xstar, who is currently rocking the airwaves with Adegheosa, her latest hit song. He added that young artistes like her deserve a push for them to reach the zenith of their career, saying that is why Real Knock Entertainment signed a management deal with another artiste, Iray Obas.
