Bauchi State Police command has arrested a housewife for allegedly stabbing her husband to death.

Acting Police Public Relations Office for the command, ASP Aminu Gimba Ahmed, disclosed this in a press release issued on Friday.

Gimba said the suspect, Maimunatu Sulaiman, 21, of Kofar Dumi Bauchi, would be charge for alleged culpable homicide.

According to the release, preliminary investigation revealed that Maimuna allegedly stabbed her husband Aliyu Mohammad following a heated argument on the 5th of July, 2023 at about 6 o clock in their matrimonial home.

“During interrogation, the suspect confessed to having committed the crime,” the Acting PPRO states.

He said the Commissioner of Police CP Auwal Musa Mohammad, , has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a discreet investigation to further unravel the circumstances that surround the death of the victim. I

He said investigation continues, and the suspect will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.

Maimuna who allegedly stabbed her husband was arrested by detectives attached to the Township Divisional Police headquarters led by the Divisional Police Officer.

Gimba disclosed that both the victim and the suspect were taken to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi.

Medical doctors confirmed that the victim died as a result of an injury sustained on his chest, while the suspect sustained minor bruises on her stomach.
