To relieve the stress of many residents of Igbogbo-Ikorodu community in Lagos and equally spice the Easter/Eid seasons, BBS Event and Entertainment in collaboration with Clayview Hotel, held a musical concert tagged: ‘Itunu Awe Gbam and Easter Gbam’.
According to the organiser, Israel Aremu, who ventured into showbiz 15 years ago in Ibadan, Oyo State, but relocated to Igbogbo-Ikorodu two years ago after seeing the need to empower youths in the community using entertainment, it was the first time such events will hold.
“My shows usually offer a lot of fun but this does not mean you won’t get education. We strike a balance; when you attend my show, you get value for the money spent. Instead of traveling miles for shows, couple with traffic jams and places you aren’t familiar with in Lagos, and the fact that you may not even enjoy the show you went for, we have decided to bring our shows down to the community,” he said.
At the event, Young and gifted Rasaq Iyanda, and Aremo Osupa and his Fuji Maestro thrilled the audience and brought satisfaction to their souls.
Apart from creating an entertainment hub in Igbogbo, Aremu also used the concerts as a way to give back to society.
“We are giving back to society in terms of targeting the music masters, those whom God has given talent of singing as well as nurturing the upcoming singers. We want to create awareness and also encourage others, to achieve their goals,” he stated.
In attendance were dignitaries who have contributed to the development of the industry including Prince Remi Shitta Bay, Prince Taiwo and Alhaji Ade Akinalade Adelerede.
