Prophet Samson Ayorinde is the Founder/General Overseer of World Evangelism Bible Church (WEBIC). He recently explained the essence of the arrest, prosecution and crucifixion of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary over 2,000 yeas ago.

Ayorinde was addressing journalists during his Easter message at the church’s international headquarters in Lagos.

On the significance of Jesus’s death, the WEBIC Founder said Christ died on the cross to reconcile humanity to His father (God) and for only those who confessed their sins and live righteously thereafter. To them, even when they die, there’s assurance of life in eternity, he noted, adding that they have been redeemed.

On the resurrection power of Jesus, Ayorinde said: “After Jesus was crucified, three days and three nights, early in the morning on Easter Sunday, his spirit came alive. He left the grave. He didn’t need doors to open for Him. He was taken to Heaven.

“On the Cross of Calvary, he shed His blood for the remission of our sins. By His death, He abolished sins. All the transgressions of humanity were forgiven. When he assembled his 12 disciples in Matthew 10, he gave them powers to heal all diseases because humanity has been redeemed,” he said.

According to Ayorinde, “Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection gave us a second chance. It also led to the birth of the church (Day of Pentecost). His last words on the Cross, It is finished, signified the work of redemption. Salvation is guaranteed when you confess your sins and live holy thereafter. Healing has come to you. Deliverance is released. Jesus has set a table full of good things of life for you, even in the presence of your enemies,” Ayorinde noted.

He urged Christians to pray for Nigeria and our leaders for them to fear God and prioritise welfare of the citizens. “Pray that God intervenes in Rivers State. Pray for our security agencies to succeed in keeping the country safe. Also pray against recession in the world as a result of the on-going tariff war among world leaders,” he counselled.

Ayorinde used the media parley to invite people to his church during the White Sunday (Sekere Day), which, he said, is purely Praise and Worship service on June 8th, this year.

On how WEBIC celebrated Easter, he said the month of April this year was loaded with activities. Among them, his wife and Mother in Israel, Prophetess Mercy Ayorinde organised a three-day special prayer sessions strictly for children. The General Overseer himself organised Four Super Tuesdays Miracle Services, which he called “No More Loss” on April 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th in the headquarters of the church. Also, there was Easter Retreat for youths in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Other programmes lined up for this year include Achieving Ladies Conference in July and Mantle, which is the church’s Convention in November when new pastors that have completed their Bible College programme would be ordained. This, he said, is to mark WEBIC’s 30th anniversary.
