In response to recent rumours circulating in some media outlets, African Alliance has firmly reassured its stakeholders that it remains fully operational and committed to delivering on its promises. Contrary to the false claims of a shutdown, the company said it is actively conducting its business and has not ceased operations for any reason.

During a recent telephone interview, Mr. Wasiu Amao, Executive Director (Technical) at African Alliance, addressed these concerns directly.

“First and foremost, we want to assure all our stakeholders that the African Alliance is very much operational and remains committed to honoring all legitimate claims.

“Annuity payments have already commenced, and we are diligently processing them to ensure swift completion. We have been actively engaging our customers across multiple channels, keeping them informed about the progress of these payments. Rest assured, all pending claims will be honored in due course, as we are fully dedicated to resolving these matters”, he explained.

Amao also took the opportunity to clarify the company’s recent operational adjustments. “It is important to emphasise that African Alliance has not shut down. In light of the nationwide protests that erupted on August 1, we made the prudent decision to temporarily transition to remote work to prioritize the safety of our staff and clients. However, essential personnel remained on-site throughout the protest period to ensure the continuity of critical operations. Full on-site activities resumed on Thursday, August 8, 2024. We deeply regret any inconvenience this temporary measure may have caused and sincerely appreciate the understanding and patience of our stakeholders during this challenging period.”

Looking ahead, Mr. Amao reinforced the company’s commitment to its future. “We want to put to rest any fears: African Alliance is built to stand the test of time. We are actively working on the turnaround plans requested by the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and are fully committed to fulfilling our obligations to all stakeholders.”

He further emphasised that the company’s leadership remains steadfast and that its digital presence, including its website, continues to operate smoothly as part of African Alliance’s ongoing dedication to serving its clients. “Our management team is intact, and we are here to stay. We will continue to strive to provide excellent service and ensure a great customer experience. African Alliance is more than just a business; we are a trusted partner to our policyholders, and we will continue to uphold the standards of professionalism and integrity that are expected of us in this industry.”

Amao extended his heartfelt gratitude to all policyholders for their unwavering trust and support. “African Alliance will continue to work tirelessly to satisfy our customers and to uphold the high standards of conduct that define our operations. We are committed to our mission of delivering peace of mind to our clients and will remain a pillar of reliability in the insurance sector”, he said.
