From Scholastica Hir, Makurdi

As two members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Benue State Chapter, set to decamp, the party has said that it would replace departing members who are set to decamp to the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC).

The party stated this, in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Chief Bemgba Iortyom, in Makurdi.

The party confirmed the departure to the APC of two of its officials, Hon. Vincent Amaabai, a National Ex-officio and Hon. Mbakorlumun Chia, State Vice-Chairman for Benue North-West (Zone “B”) Senatorial District.

It said “Both officials have been listed to be received into the ruling APC at a ceremony slated for tomorrow, 4th January, 2024, and the party wishes them well in their continuing political foraging.”

The party said there is nothing new or unusual about such happening as it is used to such migration.

“PDP understands that migration of politicians of a particular kind from the opposition to the ruling party has become a common feature of our politics, and sees nothing unusual about this current episode of it.

“Our great party will, in line with its laws, fill up their vacated positions with competent hands in the shortest time,” the party said.
